The purpose of the REAP is to provide a framework through which recent graduates and university students from diverse academic backgrounds to be assigned to respective regional institutions in the energy sector. It allows the selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the institutions and provides mentorship and exposure in professional fields that are either related to or can directly support the promotion and deployment of sustainable energy technologies and applications in the Caribbean region. CARILEC is currently recruiting for the position of Energy Solutions Assistant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A curriculum vitae, detailing the bio profile of the applicant, qualifications, relevant experience (where possible) and references. A statement of philosophy, no longer than 500 words, indicating the reasons and motivation for participation in the Programme and interest in the area of preferred focus. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The Energy Solutions Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Energy Solutions Advisor (ESA) in the provision of energy solutions support services to the CARILEC Secretariat and it\u2019s membership. This position will be tasked with engaging in continuous research, using various methodologies, to ensure that stakeholders are provided with the most up to date and relevant information on relevant energy solutions. In this regard the position will act as the custodian of the CARILEC\u2019s central repository of information on energy solutions issues including regulatory advocacy, climate resilience, renewables, distributed energy and other critical industry trends. The position will also be tasked with sustaining a high level of interaction between CARILEC and its members (particularly on energy solutions) and supporting the coordination of CARILEC\u2019s Disaster Assistance Programme (CDAP).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Vision\/Strategy Development and Execution<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist the ESA in the compilation and presentation of proactive strategic energy solutions advice to the Management, Board and membership of CARILEC based on constant reviews of the environment and industry trends.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Innovation, Growth and Organisational Capacity<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the development and maintain a CARILEC central research repository that caters to the needs of CARILEC\u2019s market.<\/li>\n<li>Work with the Marketing team to maintain and increase CARILEC\u2019s use of social media as a communication platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Customer-Stakeholder Management<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the research that provides the basis for the development of White Papers, Policy Papers, Market Analyses, Assessments, Tariff, Feasibility and Benchmark Studies, Practical Guidelines and other best practice communique.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct detailed reviews and editing of the aforementioned documents.<\/li>\n<li>Support the Climate Resilience capacity of CARILEC by relevant research, coordination of workshops in conjunction with the Learning and Development Department and content management of knowledge sharing platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the coordination and facilitation CARILEC internal energy solutions\u2019 knowledge sharing interventions.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a CARILEC database of energy solutions and disaster management knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>Support the implementation of approved systems of stakeholder engagement that ensure CARILEC receives periodic updated information from members including their needs and their comparative performance data.<\/li>\n<li>Research and compile relevant Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)\/Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) information.<\/li>\n<li>Support the ESA in sustaining knowledge sharing and grant funding partnerships\/relationships with key agencies in the interest of CARILEC<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Deliverables<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive, relevant and value-adding research that leads to the consistent and timely compilation and dissemination of White Papers, Policy Papers, Market Analysis, Potential Assessments, Tariff, Feasibility and Benchmark Studies, Practical Guidelines and other best practice communique<\/li>\n<li>Professional review and editing of the aforementioned documents<\/li>\n<li>Effective and efficient CDAP logistics support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Education \/Qualifications:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Degree in Engineering or Renewable Energy (recent graduate within the last two to three years)<\/li>\n<li>A Certificate in Renewable Energy technologies or related areas would be an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A proven track record of researching, writing and presenting on technical areas (including University activities in this regard)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge of:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Energy solutions and the energy sector in the Caribbean region<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable energy<\/li>\n<li>Research methodology<\/li>\n<li>Social media apps for business<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Skills:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent oral, presentation and business writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Excellent inter-personal skills<\/li>\n<li>Detail-oriented<\/li>\n<li>Advanced proficiency in a range of business applications software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>How to Apply<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; Interested applications should send all relevant documents as stated in the overview section for the position to <a href=\"mailto:jobs@carilec.org\">jobs@carilec.org<\/a>.
