The Accounting Assistant will play a key role in supporting our finance department in various accounting tasks and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions<\/li>\n<li>Support the month-end and year-end close processes by preparing journal entries and reconciling bank statements and performing other Balance Sheet account reconciliations.<\/li>\n<li>Assist in the preparation of financial reports<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with grant accounting, including tracking grant expenses and preparing financial reports for funders.<\/li>\n<li>Provide support during annual audits and assist in responding to audit inquiries.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with budget preparation<\/li>\n<li>Preparation and timely submission of Government remittances, ensuring that these are properly reviewed and authorized.<\/li>\n<li>Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Financial Controller or Executive Director<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Accounting, or 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Level Professional Designation eg. ACCA<\/li>\n<li>At least two years experience in a similar role<\/li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. SAGE).<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in ICT would be an asset.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Remuneration:<\/strong>\u00a0 Will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Application Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0 Applications should be submitted to <a href=\"mailto:Vacancy@carilec.org\">Vacancy@carilec.org<\/a>. no later than Tuesday 23<sup>rd<\/sup> April 2024 and should be addressed to:<\/p>\n<p>Executive Director<\/p>\n<p>P.O.
