On Friday (April 24), JPS handed over several care packages for the disabled, to assist them during the COVID-19 crisis.\u00a0 The gift was presented to the Jamaica Council for Persons with Disabilities – an agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, at the ministry\u2019s\u00a0Marcus Garvey Drive warehouse in Kingston.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the handover, JPS Senior Vice President for Customer Services, Ramsay McDonald, noted that JPS was honoured to help the vulnerable community, as well as support government initiatives that are geared to fighting COVID-19 at this time. \u201cJPS recognizes that there are many persons who are disabled and not able to come out of their homes to take care of the necessities of life.\u00a0 We are happy to be able to give a helping in this regard.\u201d<\/p>\n
Still on health care support, JPS has donated $1M to assist health care workers in the South East Regional Health area, with transportation to and from 4 major hospitals. This is being done in partnership with JUTA Tours.<\/p>\n
JPS reminds everyone to stay safe and adhere to the guidelines for good health in this challenging season.<\/p>\n
