{"id":5031,"date":"2019-06-04T09:43:15","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T13:43:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.carilec.org\/?p=5031"},"modified":"2019-06-04T09:43:15","modified_gmt":"2019-06-04T13:43:15","slug":"carilec-occupational-health-safety-seminar-a-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carilec.org\/carilec-occupational-health-safety-seminar-a-success\/","title":{"rendered":"CARILEC Occupational Health &amp; Safety Seminar a Success"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica neue, helvetica, sans-serif\">CARILEC 2019 Occupational Health and Safety Seminar was held in Saint.Lucia June 22-23, 2019, under the\u00a0 theme &#8221; <\/span><em><strong>Planning for Safety Excellence 30 Years and Beyond&#8221;<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica neue, helvetica, sans-serif\">.\u00a0 This year , the OSH seminar and CEOs conference was an integrated programme where some topics, including the theme was\u00a0discussed by the CEOs for both audiences. Mr. Thornley Myers of VINLEC, Peter Williams of Emera Caribbean Inc. Leroy Abraham of BVIEC, Clement Williams of SKELEC discussed the OSH and CEOs conference theme in a one-hour panel discussion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica neue, helvetica, sans-serif\">CARILEC OSH Committee Executives assisted in designing the seminar agenda, where they placed\u00a0emphasis on environmental concerns in keeping with UN SDGs.\u00a0 The issue of implementing\u00a0 the\u00a0 ISO 45001 standards at the utilities was in the spotlight as all of its elements were in keeping with CARILEC OSH position paper. OSH Officers from CARILEC member utilities, plan\u00a0to convene\u00a0a meeting on Thursday June 6. 2019 and subsequent meetings\u00a0 to discuss resources and\u00a0 the next steps\u00a0 required for adopting the\u00a0 ISO45001\u00a0 standards.
