\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n YVERDON-LES-BAINS, Switzerland;\u00a0<\/strong>AMSTERDAM\/OSLO, Norway \u2013 14th<\/sup>\u00a0December 2021<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0MPC Energy Solutions<\/a>\u00a0(MPCES) has partnered with\u00a0Leclanch\u00e9<\/a>, one of the world\u2019s leading energy storage companies, publicly listed in Switzerland (SIX: LECN), to build the previously announced 35.7 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) and 18.2 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) project designed with Leclanch\u00e9 Energy Management Software (L-EMS) in St. Kitts\u2019 Basseterre Valley, next to the capital city of Basseterre.<\/p>\n The project requires about US$ 74 million of investment and MPCES has acquired 40% ownership in the project\u2019s holding company, in which Leclanch\u00e9 owns 60%. MPCES will invest up to US$ 17million.<\/p>\n \u201cAt COP26 in Glasgow, St. Kitts and Nevis presented a remarkable plan to reduce CO2<\/sub>\u00a0emissions by 61 percent by switching to 100 percent renewable energy. The government of St. Kitts and Nevis leased the land in the Basseterre Valley to Leclanch\u00e9 under a 20-year agreement with the option of a five-year renewal.
