Castries, St. Lucia, September 12th<\/sup>, 2022: <\/em><\/strong>In the weeks leading up to the upcoming CARILEC Resilient Energy Community<\/strong> (CAREC) Conference and Exhibition, from September 25-29<\/strong>, 2022, <\/strong>dubbed (CAREC2022)<\/strong>, CARILEC presents a thought-provoking, informative, and solutions-driven agenda, which addresses several critical electric energy sector topics.\u00a0 These include clean energy transitioning, grid modernization planning, microgrid development and solutions, battery storage, cybersecurity, and e-mobility.\u00a0 CARILEC has been able to attract highly qualified and eminent speakers to headline this event.\u00a0 Conference speakers include leading renewable energy (RE) experts, industry regulators, senior government officials, experienced technical and procurement specialists, and utility engineers, to name a few.\u00a0 CARILEC has also included a Regulatory Roundtable<\/strong> and Energy Storage Workshop<\/strong> as part of the proceedings, to increase value, knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for attendees. The Association has partnered with several sponsors and regional and international agencies, who have all significantly contributed towards the successful planning of the event.<\/p>\n CAREC2022 commences with a Regulatory Roundtable<\/strong>, under the theme \u2018Introducing Supporting Regulation to Accelerate Energy Transition<\/strong>\u2019.\u00a0 The roundtable will be attended by regional government officials, energy sector regulators, utility leaders and energy policy makers.\u00a0 Following the regulatory roundtable, the agenda is categorized into various content blocks, designed to keep attendees thoroughly engaged.\u00a0 These content blocks will feature key energy sector topics and are further divided into sub-topic presentations. Notable presentations include, \u2018The Upward Spiral: Bermuda\u2019s Solution to Reversing the Utility Spiral\u2019<\/strong>, to be delivered by Mr. Wayne Caines<\/strong>, President of the Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO)<\/strong> and CARILEC Board Director.\u00a0 Another presentation will focus on \u2018Microgrid Development for Resilience and RE Expansion\u2019<\/strong>, facilitated by Ms. Amber Zirnhelt<\/strong> and Ms. Charlin Bodley<\/strong>, from the Energy Transition Academy<\/strong>, RMI<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Other agenda highlights include a presentation on \u2018Critical Grid Infrastructure for RE Expansion\u2019<\/strong> by Tganni Louisy<\/strong>, Business Development Manager with W\u00e4rtsil\u00e4<\/strong>.\u00a0 Also featured is a leadership panel discussion on the topic, \u2018Modern Utility Crossword: To Lead Now or Be Regulated Later\u2019<\/strong>.\u00a0 The panel will comprise of Mr. Leroy A.E.
