Department: Energy Delivery Operations

Salary: CI$4,562 to CI$5,930 | USD$5,463 to USD$7,101 (no income tax)

Work Environment: Plant Area

Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administrative Building

In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island

Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area

Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area

Satellite- Workspace is at one of CUC’s satellite locations

 

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for coordinating the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) system operation as controlled by the central control room. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Ensuring that the proper distribution connectivity is in service during normal working hours
    • Identifying unusual conditions and reporting them to the proper personnel
    • Coordinating and controlling switching operations on the transmission and distribution system
    • Ensuring proper communication of energy control procedure status is active throughout the system via live line work permits, substation and equipment entries, and issuing clearance
    • Maintaining the system’s log of events and operations.
  • Responsible for outage management events:
    • The verification and monitoring of connectivity between the OMS software suites
    • Communication and interaction with customer trouble calls
    • Analyzing of outage data and dispatching crews as appropriate
    • Recording and distributing T&D outage information.
  • Responsible for data entry and the verification of System’s reliability indices.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • Two-year (2) technical diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • A minimum of five (5) years Transmission & Distribution (T&D) operations experience
  • Technical training in the area of T&D systems or equivalent preferred

Key Competencies:

  • Proficiency with or ability to quickly master computer programs such as Microsoft Office, Outage Dispatch and call centre programs.
  • Ability to read and understand single line diagrams
