Project Development Manager
Reporting to the Manager, Engineering and Business Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
– Investigating new business opportunities for CUC; particularly in those technologies that CUC has not previously invested in.
– Developing and maintaining a renewable generation portfolio of opportunities to provide maximum commercial value to CUC, which involves identifying and developing (using CUC capital) any new renewable generation opportunity.
– Developing sound and robust commercial proposals for board approval, requiring preparation of approval documentation, budgets, business cases and board papers that meet company investment criteria.
– Preparing responses to competitive tenders for new electrical plant issued by the regulator.
– Managing the conceptual, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies associated with selected development opportunities to create commercially viable and technically robust development opportunities.
– Managing the scopes, budgets and processes for land rights acquisition, permitting and any other approval processes ensuring that acquisitions and approvals align with engineering proposals.
– Managing development opportunities with internal and external stakeholder relationships such as regulatory authorities, customers, land owners, public interest groups, contractors, and suppliers such that CUC’s brand and reputation is considered at all stages of the development process.

– Managing some of the identified opportunities through implementation to successful
handover to operational teams.
– Assisting with the development of short and long term generation and facility
expansion and upgrade plans.
– Guiding other staff to assist where required to achieve the tasks above.
Significant new business opportunities include:
– New generation technologies e.g. develop solar and wind generation
– Investments that change the way that CUC does its business e.g. develop LNG supply
– New customer centric technologies e.g. energy storage, load balancing technologies
Requirements:
Applicants should possess:
– A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Commerce or related development orientated
disciplines with a minimum of 4 years of post-degree Electricity Industry experience
are minimum requirements.
– A Master of Business Administration or similar Masters in related disciplines is
preferred.
– Chartered/registered engineers and PMI Project Management Professional
certification for those with qualifications in these disciplines is preferred.
Salary:
– Salary is CI$5,793.00 to $8,401.00 per month
o Or US$6,896.00 to $10,001.00 per month

CUC operates within the Cayman Islands, a tax-free jurisdiction. Employees working are
subject to taxes only when importing goods from overseas. There are no income taxes.
