Department: Electrical Maintenance Department
Employment Status: Full-time
Salary: CI$4,075 to $5,297 per month or USD$4,890 to USD$6,356
Work Environment: Plant Area, with occasional exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, noise and fumes.
Corporate – Workspace is primarily in the Administative Building
In Field – Workspace is primarily Off Site at various locations around the island
Plant Area- Workspace is primarily in the Power Plant Area
Hybrid – Workspace is a combination of in the Administrative Building and in the Field or in the Plant Area
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Plan future maintenance work, reduce potential delays and maximize utilization of maintenance workforce “wrench time”.
- Develop work plans based upon work request and field inspection of the work site, where required (where work plan does not exist for that equipment). Work plans to indicate scope of what work is to be done and identify critical resources required.
- Identify and co-ordinate of necessary resources, with sufficient lead time prior to the start of the work to ensure those resources can be scheduled when needed, for effective and efficient execution of the work. Necessary resources can include:
- Work scope and job instructions;
- Technical information – e.g. drawing, manuals;
- MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) parts and materials – e.g. MRO stores, parts /material to be purchased;
- Special tools and equipment – e.g. mobile / heavy equipment, precision tools;
- Special permitting – e.g. confined space, “hot work”, etc.
- Minimum skill levels and quantity of human resources required – e.g. one mechanic trained in laser alignment, one mechanic trained in rigging and hoisting, one electrician competent in motor installation and setting protection, outside contractor with 10T crane and operator; and operator
- Production operating conditions – e.g. equipment to be shutdown, emptied and cleaned of all production material, and locked-out.
- Responsible for asset movements within the EAM system. This will include new items, repaired items, and end of life equipment that will be written off.
- Reserve or procure critical parts and materials required, as appropriate (i.e. standard MRO stores item, or purchase item). Arrange staging / kitting of parts and materials, as appropriate.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Two (2) year Technician Diploma or Associate of Applied Science Degree in Mechanical, Facilities, Electrical or Industrial Maintenance Technology
- Minimum of three (3) years related work experience in the mechanical (electrical) power generation maintenance industry
- OEM maintenance training of mechanical power generation and auxiliary equipment (OEM maintenance training of electrical power generation, auxiliary equipment, instrumentation, controls and substations required)
