For over three decades, CARILEC’s members have powered communities, strengthened resilience, advanced innovation, and shaped the future of the Caribbean energy sector.

The CARILEC Awards of Excellence were created to recognize, celebrate, and inspire excellence, highlighting the outstanding achievements of utilities, and partners whose work makes a lasting impact on the region. These awards honour innovation, reliability, community leadership, resilience, sustainability, safety, and partnership, all critical pillars of a modern and future-ready electricity sector.

  • Inspire innovation and sustainable development
  • Celebrate organizations and teams going “above and beyond”

By establishing clear performance benchmarks, the awards help elevate industry standards while ensuring customers and communities benefit from safe, reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity services.

Winners of the CARILEC Awards of Excellence will be selected based primarily on verified data submitted by utilities and members throughout the calendar year. The evaluation process is grounded in measurable performance indicators, documented participation, and official submissions to CARILEC platforms, including CARILEC Automated Utility Benchmarking Platform (CAUBP) data, Quarterly Tariff Survey submissions and event participation records and contributions.

This data-driven approach ensures that award selections are objective, transparent, and reflective of actual performance and engagement over the observation period.

Utilities that have not submitted relevant data during the year may be required to provide comparable supporting documentation within the designated submission window to be considered for applicable categories.

Applications are now invited for the categories of Excellence in Safety and Best Performing Utility under the CARILEC Awards of Excellence. Utilities that may not have submitted the required performance data throughout 2025 are still encouraged to participate and may do so by submitting the necessary supporting documentation for assessment.
