Our line workers play a key role in installing, maintaining, and upgrading the infrastructure necessary for new energy technologies, contributing to the transition of a more sustainable and technologically advanced energy system.
At CARILEC, we ensure that lineworkers around the region are well trained to meet the demands of the evolving energy landscape, particularly for the adoption and implementation of renewable energy sources and smart grid technologies, as they are at the forefront of these changes. The Symposium entails a combination of presentations, practical working sessions, and networking opportunities. Some of the areas to be covers at this years Symposium include safety practices and procedures in transmission and distribution (T&D), new and emerging technologies in T&D, leading as a line worker, a focus on safety and the rescue of fellow line worker in case of accidents, and a review of innovations and new projects and programmes installed at the electric utilities within the last year.
Attending the Lineworkers Symposium and Rodeo is critical to every line worker to support in their role in the installation, upkeep, and enhancement of our region’s energy infrastructure. CARILEC will issue all attendees with certificates for this training.
Not to mention, the Rodeo provides a high-pressure simulation exercise to expose line workers to the safety risks when out in the field and prepare them to handle it. Best of all, Lineworkers from around the region will compete to determine which teams, are the safest, fastest, and overall best at what they do.
It’s the most highly anticipated event for line workers and it’s happening from April 19 – 21, in Antigua. Note that participating lineworkers must bring along their relevant personal protective equipment (PPE) for this training.
