In October 2020, CARILEC held its very first Virtual Speed Networking Session, which was well received by several utility members. Over the past decade, CARILEC’s traditional Face to Face (F2F) Speed Networking sessions have provided members with tremendous value during the annual conferences. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its restriction on travel, CARILEC has decided to execute this event virtually and render it as a staple, stand-alone event on its calendar of conferences and seminars. The Utility Speed Networking Series has been proven quite valuable to utility leaders, as it provides them with a platform to undertake an initial vetting and assessment of offerings, which might fulfil their various commercial needs. This series will also afford associate and affiliate members the opportunity to gain access to utility representatives throughout the region within a short space of time.
The Utility Speed Networking Series, under the theme, “Click. Pitch. Connect.”, also offers huge cost savings and reduces the need to travel all over the Caribbean region or internationally to individual business meetings. It has been echoed by many members that the speed-networking event provides a significant Return on Investment (ROI) to their membership. During these sessions, Associate, Affiliate and IPP members take the opportunity to introduce their products, services, technologies, and methodologies during a 3-5-minute elevator speech.
