An opportunity exists within Energyze Holding Inc. to fill the position of Business Development/Project Manager.
JOB SUMMARY
To lead and manage projects related to diversification initiatives and the development of new energy solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to drive innovation, deliver projects on time and within budget, and contribute to the Company’s strategic objectives in the rapidly changing energy sector.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises the work of direct reports, by planning their work schedule, communicating work objectives, setting targets, coaching, mentoring, motivating and appraising performance results, to drive productivity for the achievement of priorities of the Section;
- Ensures direct reports are equipped with the skills and tools necessary to effectively undertake their assignments, by identifying learning opportunities, actively sharing knowledge and facilitating on-the-job training, to build capacity for a highly effective and motivated team;
- Interfaces directly with customers to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the products or services being delivered to build trust, loyalty, and long-term relationships with customers;
- Manages the negotiation, drafting, and implementation of contracts with customers, outlining deliverables, terms, and responsibilities to establish clear expectations and agreements, and to safeguard the interests of the Company and its customers;
- Manages the delivery of products or services to customers, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to specifications, to enhance the overall customer experience and reinforce the Company’s reputation for delivering value and meeting customer requirements;
- Manages the administrative and technical aspects of construction projects by effectively determining project requirements, developing scope of works, creating schedules, budgets and timelines, to optimize resource utilization and mitigate potential risks for the achievement of project objectives within stipulated time and budget;
- Manages and coordinates all aspects of project execution [including design package development, bid solicitation, contractor selection, contract review, HSE reviews and performance, on-site construction, utility connection, invoice approval, schedule monitoring, and customer hand-off] to ensure project efficiency, compliance, and a high level of stakeholder satisfaction;
- Ensures adherence to Ministry of Labor, and Corporate Safety Rules and Policies for employees and contractors throughout the execution of projects, to reduce the risk of workplace accidents, demonstrate the Company’s commitment to upholding safety standards, foster trust with stakeholders, and to ensure projects progress smoothly and are completed within budget and timelines;
- Tracks and reports on job progress, monitors critical path activities, tracks outstanding items and reviews project deliverables with the team, to monitor the progress of tasks and milestones, ensures projects stay on schedule and key deliverables are achieved on time; addresses issues proactively, seeks feedback and takes corrective action before finalizing project outputs;
- Conducts site evaluations and generates preliminary engineering designs, energy estimates [audits], cost estimates, and proposals for renewable systems; identifies opportunities to enhance energy efficiency, assesses the feasibility of renewable energy projects, determines the economic viability of implementing the proposed systems and facilitates decision-making;
- Submits all documentation required for regulatory approvals for licensing, permitting, and utility interconnection of renewable energy systems, to ensure legal compliance, manage risks, facilitate grid integration, and maintain project momentum;
- Builds and maintains relationships with suppliers through regular communication, market research and benchmarking, negotiation and contract management, and supplier performance evaluation, to ensure competitive costs, and to stay abreast with new equipment, systems, and pricing trends in the industry;
- Evaluates technologies and equipment, through research, analysis and inputs from industry experts, to enable informed decisions on the most appropriate for each application/project;
- Develops resource plans for the execution of project activities through effective project scope assessment, resource allocation and scheduling, risk management and stakeholder engagement, to ensure successful project completion;
- Supervises field staff and contractors in the installation of PV systems to ensure quality control and project delivery on time and within budget, while meeting or exceeding customer expectations;
- Manages change requests through the establishment of a formal process for submitting, evaluating, and implementing change requests and tracking the status of such requests throughout the evaluation, implementation, and closure stages, to ensure timely resolution and adherence to project requirements;
- Prepares reports for ongoing projects including, but not limited to, status reports, generating dashboards and daily snapshots of installation activities, to facilitate clear and concise communication among project stakeholders, track progress, and provide data-driven insights that support decision-making;
- Tracks employee and contractor attendance, by documenting attendance records, to ensure proper resource allocation, identify staffing needs, and address any attendance-related issues that may impact project timelines;
- Uses project scheduling and control tools, to monitor project plans, budgets and expenditures and track hours for work done, throughout the project life cycle, and to keep teams informed about project status and issues that may impact the project;
- Advises Management on operational and tactical details related to engineering and project management, to aid in optimizing project delivery, ensure potential issues are mitigated early, support informed decision-making and strategic planning, and ensure the success, efficiency, and quality of projects;
- Participates in annual budgeting by collaborating with stakeholders to develop budget that aligns with the Company’s financial goals and monitors and manages expenditure to maintain approved budget limits and achieve overall profitability targets;
- Promotes teamwork and collaboration through regular staff meeting and employee engagement initiatives to create a sense of inclusion among team members, to keep them updated on critical Company and departmental issues and to ensure the achievement of organizational goals and objectives;
- Updates the General Manager on operational matters by providing briefings as necessary, and submitting reports to enable timely responses to issues and the implementation of improvement measures, where necessary;
- Remains current in the emerging market trends and technological developments of the renewable energy industry by reading professional publications, networking, among others, to aid in the development of innovative approaches and techniques for performing the project management function;
- Performs any other job-related duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration or a related field;
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification plus at least seven (7) years of experience managing complex projects in a utility, construction, commercial or industrial environment and the management of projects in renewable energy installations.
- Training in PV design and installation systems

- Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation;
- Sound knowledge of and ability to interpret Company policies and standard operating procedures as well as the relevant legislation, regulations and codes of ethics related to the Company, as well as, familiarity with regulatory codes and standards related to the renewable energy industry;
- Broad job knowledge and/or technical expertise relevant to the job, and provision of sound advice;
- Strong project management skills, detail oriented and multitasking abilities to manage shifting priorities, to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Strong risk management, quality assurance skills and financial acumen;
- Familiarity with applicable electrical, civil, and structural codes and standards;
- In-depth knowledge of best practice to implement proven methods and techniques related to the implementation of a project throughout its life cycle;
