In this current COVID19 environment, we are faced with the challenge of managing the practicable preventative solutions of wearing masks. The seeming resistance and non-committal stance of the general populace to wearing masks may be complicated by the myriad of sources of information from social media, easy access to unverified information, and pure simple rebellion. The issues of the vaccine and the conspiracies surrounding its acceptance are directly complicated again by information relating to history that gives rise to mistrust and suspicion as well as cultural nuances and religious beliefs. No doubt, these factors complicate the work of health and safety workers and present a challenge to the health sector throughout the Caribbean.
