CARILEC’s Membership Body Focuses on Reformulating the Regional Energy Future During 2021 Engineering & Procurement Conference

At this year’s Engineering & Procurement Conference & Exhibition, CARILEC focused on a simple yet effectual theme: Reformulate the Energy Future by Rethinking, Refocusing, and Reshaping.  The electric energy Association elected to concentrate on the transformation of the regional energy sector at this year’s conference, a multi-layered but worthy task in which engineers and procurement specialists play a pivotal role.  This technically driven virtual event was hosted over a three (3) day period from July 26th to 28th, 2021, and showcased a theme-centred panel discussion consisting of leading Utility engineers, exhibitor booths which displayed superior engineering and procurement products and services, and a comprehensive training workshop on Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Inverters Troubleshooting, among other captivating agenda items.

As the region’s premier technical forum for reporting on the latest trends, challenges, and best practices in engineering and procurement, anticipation is always high among engineering, procurement, and supply chain personnel for CARILEC’s annual Engineering and Procurement Conference and Exhibition. This year’s conference, although virtual, did not disappoint as it fostered a deeper understanding on global technological developments and scientific advancements while simultaneously expounding on the pace of science, technology, and business areas in the fields of energy, engineering, and procurement.

The Managing Director of St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC), Mr. Trevor Louisy, who, in addition to his leadership role at the highly regarded regional utility is also an engineer by profession, reaffirmed his utility’s commitment to supporting this year’s Engineering & Procurement Conference: “The work of CARILEC in the electric energy sector is incomparable. The Association has long advocated for the advancement of sustainable energy, reliable generation, efficient and effective procurement, and grid resilience solutions, among other industry imperatives. Such advocacy and capacity building in these foundational areas are critical to ensure engineers and procurement managers continue to achieve success in their respective fields.  LUCELEC fully endorses this year’s Engineering & Procurement Conference and commends all utility engineers and procurement managers for their hard work, dedication and commitment to their respective organisations and the people of the region who they diligently serve.”
