Call For Presenters

As the electricity sector in the Caribbean region, and indeed across the globe, faces unprecedented challenges and opportunities, the theme for the CARILEC 2025 Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and Finance Conference: “Watts Next in Leadership: Navigating Unchartered Territories”, encapsulates the pressing need for innovative leadership in an ever evolving, and somewhat uncertain landscape. As the world moves toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future, the challenge of financing the energy transition has never been more critical.

This conference aims to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, finance practitioners, regulators, and other stakeholders to explore the future of the electricity sector in a world marked by technological advancements, regulatory changes, and shifting consumer expectations. The conference will also explore innovative financing solutions that support the transition to renewable energy sources and sustainable practices in the electricity sector.

Key Focus Areas: (Leadership)

  1. Innovation in Energy Solutions: Explore how leaders can foster a culture of innovation to drive sustainable energy solutions, advancements in renewable energy technologies, energy storage, and smart grids.
  2. Regulatory and Policy Frameworks: Examine the implications of new and proposed policies and regulations on the electric energy sector and how effective leadership can navigate these changes to promote stability and growth.
  3. Digital Transformation and Data Utilization: Highlight the impact of digital tools, AI, and big data on energy management and case studies that showcase successful integration of technology in decision-making processes.
  4. Sustainable Practices and ESG Considerations: Explore the role of leadership in promoting sustainability within the electricity sector and examine the growing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in Corporate Governance and Leadership.

Analyze and present successful models for community-energy or citizen-projects, that can create win-win opportunities for Caribbean power sector stakeholders.   2. Mobilizing Capital for Renewables: Discuss effective strategies for attracting investments in renewable energy technologies. Gain insights from leading investors on how to identify and evaluate opportunities in the energy sector.
  3. Navigating Regulatory Frameworks: Analyze the role of government policies and incentives in facilitating financing for energy transition initiatives. Engage in dialogue about how regulatory clarity can attract private investment and support project viability.
  4. Risk Assessment and Management: Examine the financial risks associated with investing in renewable energy and sustainable technologies. Learn about risk management strategies that can help investors and developers navigate uncertainties in the market.
  5. Collaboration Across Sectors: Foster discussions around collaboration between financial institutions, energy companies, and government entities. Highlight successful partnerships that have implemented financing solutions for large-scale energy projects.

Speaker Application Deadline

The deadline for submission of applications for presenters for the 2025 Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and Finance Conference is Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

SPEAKER FEE

Speakers at CARILEC conferences benefit from a significantly reduced registration fee, allowing you to participate in the event at a discounted rate. Speakers are responsible for covering their own travel and accommodation expenses. This policy ensures that CARILEC can continue to deliver high-quality conferences while providing speakers with a platform to share their expertise, gain exposure and network with decision-makers from across the region.

Speaker Fee: Member $800 USD, Non- Member $1,000 USD.

How to Apply

Interested speakers must complete the Become A Speaker form available on the website, and select “Chief Executive Officers, Chief Financial Officers and Finance Conference” as the event. A 100-word abstract must be included to provide details on the presentation, as well as a biography, and image of the presenter.

Criteria for Selection

CARILEC has appointed a selection committee to review and evaluate the presentations to be delivered at its conferences. Presenters for the conference agenda will be selected based on their expertise, alignment with leading agenda topics, and demonstrated competency in their respective fields. The selection process will prioritize individuals with proven experience, innovative insights, and the ability to deliver engaging and impactful presentations that address the needs and interests of the audience.

Your abstract should demonstrate clearly that your presentation:

  • Will focus on the specified theme and general topics.
  • Will be of interest particularly to the target audience of the conference.
  • Will present information that is theoretically sound and accurate.
  • Will present new knowledge or experience, the substance of which has not been previously presented at a CARILEC conference (unless otherwise advised).
  • Will not be commercial in nature and will not promote specific companies, products, or services.
