This presentation delves into essential safety procedures, tools, and methods that line workers must expertly master to ensure their ongoing safety in the field. By highlighting key practices such as proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), understanding safety protocols, and effectively utilizing tools designed for risk mitigation, attendees will gain insight into creating a secure working environment.

The presentation will emphasize the importance of continuous training, risk assessment techniques, and the role of communication in enhancing a safety culture. Presentation 3

11:30 – 12:15

Topic: Lineworker Training in the 21st Century

Training and developing high-voltage powerline workers in the 21st century is more challenging than it ever has been. The old ways aren’t working very well anymore. Young people interested in the work are expecting high-quality training in a form they are used to – which usually involves computers. Instructor-led, hands-on training will never go away, however. This presentation will discuss how to attract and train the best talent for our companies by balancing our delivery models.

Presenter: Ronald Schenk, President, T&D Power Skills, USA
