Castries, June 24, 2023 – As at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, St. Lucia Electricity Services Limited (LUCELEC) crews restored 98% of power to customers who lost service during the passage of Tropical Storm Bret on Thursday, June 22, 2023.
There remain small pockets of customers across the island who are still without power as a result of localized faults. Most of these areas are expected to be restored later today, Saturday June 24. LUCELEC crews and contractors are working systematically and diligently to resolve each of the individual fault reports received. The Company understands that customers with these isolated faults have been without power since Tropical Storm Bret passed through, and these customers must be thanked for their continued patience as crews work to restore power as safely and as quickly as possible.
Customers who remain without power should call the following numbers: in the North (from Cap Estate to Dennery on the East and Canaries on the West) 452-2165 | 457-4765, and those in the south (from Praslin to Bouton) 457-4800 | 454-6617 | 454-6977, for assistance. Due to the volume of calls, customers may experience some delays in connecting with our Trouble Call Operator. The Company asks for your patience and to keep trying the lines.
LUCELEC apologises to its customers for the inconvenience caused by the outages and extends thanks and appreciation for the understanding and patience while teams work to resolve the outstanding faults.
