Lineworkers Rodeo

The CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo is a celebration of skill, teamwork, and resilience in the energy seector. This annual event brings together lineworkers from across the region, offering them a unique opportunity to test their technical expertise, safety knowledge, and speed in real-world scenarios.

Lineworkers are the backbone of power restoration efforts, especially in times of crisis. The Rodeo simulates high-pressure situations, mirroring the challenges of post-disaster recovery and emergency response. Participants compete in a series of timed events, demonstrating their ability to climb poles, rescue colleagues, and restore power efficiently and safely, all while reinforcing the importance of teamwork and precision.

Beyond competition, the event fosters camaraderie and professional growth, allowing lineworkers to exchange best practices, learn from industry veterans, and enhance their field safety techniques. Whether competing, spectating, or learning, the CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo is an electrifying experience that showcases the dedication, bravery, and expertise of the Caribbean’s finest utility professionals. Some of the challenges under the Rodeo include:

  • HV Cut-out Installation
  • HV Earth Installation
  • Pin and Insulator Changeout
  • Dead-end Changeout
  • Pole Top Rescue
  • Pole Top Basketball
  • Hurt Man Rescue
  • Mystery Event
