The BESS was verified under conditions for charging and discharging to prove the Simulink model
functional. For charging the BESS was set to 75% SOC, which was lower than 80% SOC set point.

With the PV Array and PEM system disabled and the grid isolated, the simulation was run and confirmed that
the battery was discharging as shown.
BESS for 80% SOC and discharging to load
When optimized, the limitation on the electrolyser was the highest attainable stack efficiency attained was
59% based on the 776V DC bus operation voltage as required. A higher efficiency would have been achieved
at lower operating voltage. The temperature and irradiance table was also modified as shown to simulate
night time hours by values being set to zero (0) for the next 13 hours of simulations.
